If not find a tech who can do it for you. Matthew I need your HELP :-) Thanks a lotįollowing on from what Ben said, if you're confident to do the calibration & you have a distortion meter you can do it yourself. Mullards ltd edition valve set in but I'm not sure if this is a difficult operation. Should hopefully improve things that little bit more & make it easier to calibrate & maintain.Hi.I'd like to put the T.C. He seems to think that adjusting the value of the resistor on the back of the meter to 5R6 will give a finer adjustment. I'm sending the Phoenix over to my tech this weekend to put in some new Colvern & Fishay calibration pots & to do a resistor mod which Vic is using & shipping in the newer mastering Phoenix units.

I often run an API 2500 earlier in the chain which tends to mate with the Phoenix perfectly. Although on cold or harsh mixes leaving the sidechain switched to linear can help warm it up a little more. The sidechain HPF really preserves the bottom end punch otherwise I find it can get a little muddy or soft without this in.

Great depth, beautiful rich harmonics, subtle but nice warmth without losing detail or becoming muddy. Mullards ltd edition valve set in recently & I'm in love with the sound of this unit all over again. I usually leave the input drive on +4 (mastering edition) then adjust the incoming level going into it to achieve the desired result, attack is usually set to either 4 or 5 (mostly 4), release on 1 (occasionally 2), Link usually in (centre sounds more solid linked ime), sidechain HPF set to 75Hz (unless there is no kick drum or little to no LF content). I'm usually driving the signal into it to achieve anywhere from no visible GR on the meters to occasionally tapping 1dB of GR in some places. Mine is last in the chain just before the A/D converter. I use it in much the same way as Ben described. From the circuit, it's 75Hz and 150Hz and far as I know. The side chains work independently of the link mode. When the channels are linked, the top controls for channel one (apart from drive and gain) adjust both channels. So what's the deal?I'll attempt to answer your questions. I don't know ) it makes something between. I read in the manual that if I use the first setting and the second (150 and 300, or 75 and 150. If I set the first position (75 or 150 I don't know.) on one side, Does it make the same detection than if I use both sides? Using the link mode, have I to use both sides settings or can I just adjust the left or right side? (for attack, release, threshold of course, I don't talk about gains)Īnd for the sidechain, the manual indicates a flat, 150 and 300hz settings!!! ? Is it not 75 and 150 normally?Īnd what about the link settings on sidechain? On my new phoenix ltd there is something that I don't really well understand about the LINK.
